Traditionell haben die RF Designer feste Keramik-Kondenstoren von verschiedenen Herstellern verwendet, um die gewünschten Kapazitätswerte zu erreichen., often in banks, either in parallel or in series, Sometimes, these designs were current limited and/or showed considerable temperature coefficients.

Aufbauend auf den erprobten Eigenschaften von Vakuum Kondensatoren aus Keramik, entwickelte COMET eine Familie mit hoher Güte (Q) und Stromfähigkeit, die sehr kompakt und robust sind.

Diese neue Familie fester Vakuum Kondensatoren wird unter dem Tradmark Warenzeichen MINI-CAP™ vertrieben, zeichnet sich durch einfaches und robustes Design aus und showing a hold off Spannung von 15 kV Spitzenwerttest. Die gewöhnliche Stromhöhe, die mit reiner Konvektionskühlung erreicht wird liegt bei 70 Arms bei 13.56 MHz. Mit zusätzlicher Kühlung ist der MINI-CAP™ hingegen geeignet um bei über 100 Arms zu arbeiten .

Fünf Standard Versionen mit den Kapazitätswerten 25, 50, 100, 150 und 200 pF sind stets im Lager verfügbar. Die Standard Toleranzen der Kapazität beträgt ± 5 %. Andere Kapazitätswerte und geringere Toleranzen sind auf Anfrage verfügbar. Alle Kondensatoren haben die selben Abmessungen.

COMET's außergewöhnliches Designkonzept für den MINI-CAP™ bewirkt ein Minimum an innerer Induktivität und besitzt hervorragende elektrische Verbindungen wie sie in RF Systemen verlangt werden. Zusammen erlaubt dies höchst zuverlässige Arbeit bei 100 MHz und mehr.
